About this Album
This collection consists of recordings made in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica, showcasing the respective Afro-Hispanic, Afro-French, and Afro-British traditions of each island. Drawn from both urban and rural settings, the selections range from largely African to largely European in influence, illustrating the wide range of diversity found within Caribbean music.
