About this Album

Some 35 years before the blockbuster album Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares was released, another group of women from the mountains and plains of Bulgaria sang together on stage, performing rural folk songs and dances. While on tour in France, they recorded this album, originally released in 1955 and heard here in its entirety.
