  • Wilco Reveals New Details of Summer's Solid Sound Festival Lineup

Tune in to The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight on CBS to see Wilco perform "Deeper Down" off Wilco (the album). The band has just announced a diverse array of musical guests for the line up of its first Solid Sound Festival, a three-day event to be held at MASS MoCA, August 13–15, in North Adams, Massachusetts. In addition to performances by the band and its members, the festival will feature Avi Buffalo, Vetiver, Sir Richard Bishop, Mountain Man, Brenda, The Books, Deep Blue Organ Trio, and legendary puppet theater company Bread and Puppet.

  • Wilco Launches Tour of Japan, New Zealand, and Australia After "Slam-Bang Finish" to US Tour (Post-Gazette)

Wilco begins a two-week tour of Japan, New Zealand, and Australia with a set at the Big Cat in Osaka tonight. All five shows in Australia feature an opening set from Liam Finn. The latest tour begins less than two weeks after what the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette called the "slam-bang finish" of the band's fully sold-out US tour in Pittsburgh.

About this Album

Daring in its own right, Wilco’s third and final album for Warner Bros. foreshadows the even more experimental work to come on the band’s Nonesuch debut, Yankee Foxtrot Hotel. As Rolling Stone put it, “Wilco use the studio like an instrument, unreeling mini-movies of the imagination, blending and then bending the sound of guitars, drums and a thrift-shop array of vintage keyboards.” Includes the album on 12" vinyl and CD; Nonesuch Store purchases also include free MP3 downloads of the album.
