Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell Kick Off European Tour

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell kicked off their European tour with a performance at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, England, last night. The tour is in support of their new duets album, Old Yellow Moon, the first official collaboration from the duo since Crowell joined Harris’s Hot Band as guitarist and harmony singer in 1975. These special "An Evening With Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell" shows feature the acclaimed artists (and longtime friends) performing material spanning their vast catalogues, backed by a distinguished group of musicians including Steve Fishell, Jedd Hughes, Byron House, Gerry Roe, and Chris Tuttle.

Following last night's Manchester concert, the European tour makes additional stops throughout the UK and Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland before concluding in Hamburg, Germany, on May 31. The next leg of their US tour begins on June 15. See below for all of the currently announced dates; for details and ticket links, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

Produced by Brian Ahern (Johnny Cash, George Jones, Roy Orbison), Old Yellow Moon includes four songs written by Crowell as well as interpretations of songs such as Hank DeVito’s "Hanging Up My Heart," Roger Miller’s "Invitation to the Blues," and Allen Reynolds's "Dreaming My Dreams," among others. The 12-track duets album features world-renowned musicians including Stuart Duncan, Vince Gill, and Bill Payne, as well as members of the original Hot Band.

Saw the cncert in Paris...Once the sound guys amplified Rodney's vocals it was an even better show...one of the best that I have seen...I was amazed that most of the attendees were Parisians...they love both Emmy Lou and Rodney as much as I do...
It was a concert that I will remember for a long while....
beautiful voices, wonderful lyrics, superb musicians....
let me float through the memories of the moment as i floated my way back to my humble hotel

It was a fantastic show in Hamburg! Thanks so very much! All I wanted to hear!
Beautiful duet singing, very gifted musicians in the band and a real "fat" sound: First the vocals, then the melody instruments and then drums and bass.
Very nice also the beginning of the second set: just acoustic. A very special thanks also to Steve Fishell, whom I saw with Commander Cody some 30 years ago in Bremen and to this talented guy from down under with the red Telecaster ...

I am very happy having seen this great show!

Wilfried
