Devendra Banhart Launches European Summer Tour
    Ana Kras

Devendra Banhart, who made his Nonesuch Records debut with the release of his eighth studio album, Mala, in March, kicks off a five-week tour of Europe this week with a performance at The Button Factory in Dublin on Wednesday night, followed by two stops in the UK: at The Old Market in Brighton on Friday and the famed Glastonbury Festival on Saturday. In the weeks that follow, Banhart and his band—Noah Georgeson on guitar, Fabrizio Moretti on drums, Todd Dahlhoff on bass, and Joe Steinbrick and Rodrigo Amarante on guitars—will play headlining shows and summer festivals sets in Germany, Poland, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, as well as a return to the UK to perform at The Ritz in Manchester and at Barbican Hall in London.

See below for all of the currently scheduled European tour dates; visit nonesuch.com/on-tour for additional details and tickets links.

Mala was released to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic, with Pitchfork calling it "Banhart's best record in nearly a decade." The album received four-star reviews from, among others, Mojo, Q, the Times of London, and the Guardian, which called it a "triumph." Under the Radar concludes: "He's a singularly idiosyncratic and brilliant songwriter, one hitting an arresting stride on this uniformly superb album."

To pick up a copy of Mala on CD, vinyl, MP3, and FLAC, head to the Nonesuch Store now.

Joshua Redman is joined by drummer Brian Blade, bassist Scott Colley, and cornetist Ron Miles for Still Dreaming, an album inspired by his father Dewey Redman's band Old and New Dreams, out now. That band had an all-star lineup of Ornette Coleman collaborators: Don Cherry, Charlie Haden, and Ed Blackwell. "Consistently riveting," says the Washington Post. "It all makes for a jazz adventure that begs for repeated listening," says the Lexington Herald-Leader. "The more you tune in, the more you hear the present day curators of a sublime jazz legacy forging its music into something unmistakably new."
