Watch it here. A third album track, "Big Shot," has been named NPR's Song of the Day. Music from Dr. John's new album, Locked Down, due out April 3 on CD and April 21 on vinyl, is making the rounds, as a teaser video featuring the title track was unveiled on USA Today and posted to the Nonesuch Journal yesterday and the full track was posted to the Brooklyn Academy of Music's website, bam.org, in advance of the upcoming live Locked Down shows there. Now there's a second new teaser video from director Reid Long, featuring the track "Revolution" and a trippy play off the album cover with more behind-the-scenes footage from inside producer Dan Auerbach's Nashville studio at the album's recording sessions. You can watch the short video below and listen to the full track here.

A third album track, "Big Shot," has been named today's NPR Song of the Day.

"Auerbach makes 71-year-old Mac Rebennack sound fresh and intimate by connecting him to his vital musical past," says NPR's Marc Silver of the recording. "The horns pump up the song, just the way they'd enliven a funeral march in the Big Easy. The backing McCrary Sisters are gospel-flavored and swathed in reverb, while Dr. John himself sounds as if he's having a heap of fun with the self-promoting lyric. He slurs words with New Orleans insouciance, toys with the beat, injects just the right amount of ego and attitude, and proves that now, as always, he's the ruler of American roots music."
