Emmylou Harris, Ben Folds to Perform at Dave Matthews Band Caravan Chicago Festival
Emmylou Harris and Ben Folds will be among the performers at the Chicago stop on the Dave Matthew Band Caravan, a series of three-day, multi-artist festivals taking place in four US cities this summer. The event will take place July 8–10 at Lakeside, on Chicago's south shore of Lake Michigan.
In addition to performances from Emmylou Harris and Ben Folds, the three-day festival will include performances from David Gray, Ray LaMontagne, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Daniel Lanois, Vieux Farka Toure, and many others, as well as a performances of Dark Side of the Moon by The Flaming Lips and full sets from the Dave Matthews Band each night.
Dave Matthews Band Caravan will be the first-ever event held at Lakeside, where the panoramic view of downtown Chicago across the water will provide a backdrop for the festival. Attendees can easily access Lakeside by Metra train, CTA Red Line, bus, bicycle and car. There is ample onsite parking and a carpool program will be available to help connect those who would like to share a ride.
Today's announcement follows last month's unveiling of the first stop on the Dave Matthews Band Caravan, June 24–26, in Atlantic City, which, as noted in the Nonesuch Journal, will feature performances from the Carolina Chocolate Drops and Punch Brothers.
Pre-sales for the Chicago shows begin Monday, April 11, and tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 15, at 11 AM ET. Tickets for Atlantic City are on sale now.
