    Emmylou Harris to Perform at NYC's SummerStage, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"

    Emmylou Harris brings her North American summer tour to New York City for a special performance, in which she joins the legendary Levon Helm Band for a concert in Central Park to benefit SummerStage. Harris will perform songs from her latest Nonesuch release, Hard Bargain, as well as favorites from throughout her storied career. The new album's opening track, "The Road," which Harris wrote about her friendship with Gram Parsons, is the Free MP3 of the Day today at MP3.com.

    While in New York City, Harris will stop by the NBC studios in Rockefeller Center to perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Tune in tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19, to see Harris and her band perform a song from the new record. The show airs at 12:35 AM ET on NBC.

    The New York Times, recommending tonight's SummerStage show, calls Harris "the reigning queen of smart, fluent Americana." The Wall Street Journal, previewing tonight's concert, says Harris has "a beautifully weathered voice that goes back to romanticized old Nashville and as much grace and poise as any singer ever."

    During her recent performance at the Dave Matthews Band Caravan in Chicago, Harris spoke with XRT's Lin Brehmer, fulfilling "a lifelong dream." Listen to the interview at wxrt.radio.com.

    Conor Oberst has shared the music video for "Till St. Dymphna Kicks Us Out," from his forthcoming album, Salutations. The video, directed by Greg Marinaccio, was filmed at the very same bar in Manhattan's East Village that inspired the song.     Rhiannon Giddens has announced an extensive US tour this spring, including several new shows that go on sale this Friday, the day her new album, Freedom Highway, will be released. Following several intimate performances in the Northeast in March with Dirk Powell, with whom she co-produced the album, and a performance in a multi-artist tribute to Aretha Franklin at Carnegie Hall, Giddens heads to Europe and Australia to tour. She returns to the US in April to tour, starting at the Stagecoach festival in California on April 28. The tour includes headline shows throughout the country and festival sets at New Orleans Jazz Fest, Newport Folk, Newport Jazz, Spoleto, ROMP, and more.
