Emmylou Harris and Jessica Lea Mayfield are among the artists who will be showcased on the PBS special ACL Presents: Americana Music Festival, along with Robert Plant, Gregg Allman, Alison Krauss, The Avett Brothers, and others, airing on Austin City Limits this Saturday. The hour-long special was filmed live at the Ryman Auditorium on October 13, during the sold-out Americana Music Association's Honors and Award Show. Emmylou Harris will perform at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, tonight as part of 9/11: 10 Years Later, a special event to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks; it will stream live online at facebook.com/KennedyCenter starting at 7:30 PM ET. The event will be hosted by Christiane Amanpour and also includes performances by Denyce Graves, Wynton Marsalis, Raúl Esparza, and the National Symphony Orchestra, along with commemorative remarks and readings by Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Madeleine Albright, and others.

Emmylou Harris joined Daniel Lanois and Friends in concert at the inaugural Harvest Picnic in Dundas, Ontario, last weekend, contributing to its "memorable moments" (Hamilton Spectator). While much of the set focused on Wrecking Ball, her 1995 Lanois-produced album, it also included songs from her new album, Hard Bargain. Harris recently stopped by the Rolling Stone offices to perform a couple of songs off the album and to discuss her collaborations with Levon Helm and Gram Parsons. Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the free annual outdoor music festival held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, returns for its 11th run this September 30 through October 2. The line-up has now been announced and include four Nonesuch artists: perennial favorite Emmylou Harris, returning performers Punch Brothers and Jessica Lea Mayfield, and, making their Hardly Strictly debut, The Low Anthem.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, the free annual outdoor music festival held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, returns for its 11th run this September 30 through October 2. The festival's organizers are announcing the line-up through a series of music medleys. Among the already-announced performers are Punch Brothers, who performed last year, and Emmylou Harris, who will have performed at each of the festival's 11 years. Just added to the festival roster: The Low Anthem.

This past weekend, the Newport Folk Festival offered the sold-out crowd two beautiful summer days of music from performers including the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Emmylou Harris, Wanda Jackson, and Chris Thile & Michael Daves. You can now listen to all of those sets online at NPR Music, from the ever "vital and contemporary" Harris to the "blazingly intense music" of Thile & Daves. The Boston Globe says that all the music proved "compelling and indebted to what preceded it."

Newport music festival season gets under way this weekend, when the Newport Folk Festival returns, featuring several Nonesuch artists: Carolina Chocolate Drops, Emmylou Harris, Wanda Jackson, and Chris Thile & Michael Daves, plus Sara Watkins with the Decemberists and a special benefit performance by The Low Anthem. James Farm will play the following weekend's Newport Jazz Festival. NPR Music will be broadcasting and webcasting full concerts throughout each event.

Emmylou Harris was the musical guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night on NBC. She and her band performed a rocking rendition of "New Orleans," off her new album, Hard Bargain. Prefix calls it "an upbeat country-rock track that’s well suited to Harris’ vocal style, which has retained the edge she’s possessed since emerging onto the music scene in the early 1970s." Harris also gave a web-exclusive performance of the album track "Darlin' Kate." Watch both performances here.

Emmylou Harris is the musical guest on tonight's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Tune in to see Harris and her band perform "New Orleans," off her new album, Hard Bargain. Harris performed in NY's Central Park on a double bill with the legendary Levon Helm last night and joined in on the finale: The Band's "The Weight." She recently spoke with the A.V. Club, which says: "Her voice has a mournful quality that reaches back before the West was won, a sound that’s come to the fore over the last couple of decades as she’s definitively departed from the land of fiddles and pedal steel."

Emmylou Harris brings her North American summer tour to NYC for a special performance, in which she joins the Levon Helm Band for a concert in Central Park to benefit SummerStage. She performs on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night. "The Road," the opening track on her new album, Hard Bargain, is the Free MP3 of the Day today at MP3.com. The New York Times, recommending tonight's show, calls Harris "the reigning queen of smart, fluent Americana."

Emmylou Harris is the subject of a feature interview in Relix magazine, in which she discusses her new record, Hard Bargain, and the many unforgettable artistic collaborations Harris has made over the years, not least with Gram Parsons, about whom she wrote the album's opening track, "The Road." She is currently touring North America. Of her set at the Dave Matthews Band Caravan, the Chicago Tribune writes: "Achy, sympathetic and warm, Harris' quivering whippoorwill voice was the most effortlessly beautiful sound heard at the festival."

The 2011 ROMP (River of Music Party) Bluegrass Roots & Branches Festival kicks off today at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, Kentucky, and continues through the weekend, with three Nonesuch artists scheduled to perform as festival headliners: Punch Brothers on Friday and Carolina Chocolate Drops and Emmylou Harris on Saturday. Each Punch Brothers band member will also lead a ROMP festival workshop targeted to his instrument.
