Jessica Lea Mayfield, fresh off her stand-out performance at the Bonnaroo festival, kicks off her extensive US summer tour with a free set in Chicago's Grant Park this evening for Taste of Chicago. The tour, featuring songs from Mayfield's Nonesuch debut album, Tell Me, will take her across the United States through the end of September, including several shows out West with the Avett Brothers, a performance with Punch Brothers, sets at Bumbershoot and the Philadelphia Folk Festival, and a late-September concert supporting John Prine. See below for all of the currently scheduled tour dates and visit nonesuch.com/on-tour for further details and ticket links.

Metromix names Mayfield one of the 25 hottest artists under 25, citing the song "Our Hearts Are Wrong," off Tell Me, as a highlight of the new album, saying it "sounds like Loretta Lynn fronting the Bad Seeds."

The Los Angeles Times recently included Tell Me first on its list of the year's best music so far. "Mayfield’s ability to capture private vignettes and draw them with unguarded honesty makes Tell Me essential listening," says the Times. "It’s rough and honest, strong but also delicate and vulnerable."

To pick up a copy of Tell Me, head to the Nonesuch Store, where orders include high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the album at checkout.
