Joshua Redman, whose latest album, Walking Shadows, was released this week on Nonesuch Records, kicks off a tour of Europe with his Quartet, featuring Aaron Goldberg on piano, Reuben Rogers on bass, and Gregory Hutchinson on drums. The 11-city tour begins with a set at L'Abbaye de l'Épau in Le Mans, France, tonight, followed by additional stops in France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and Germany. While in Europe, Redman heads to the UK to perform a duo show with bassist Christian McBride at Wigmore Hall in London this Saturday, May 11, the final concert in this season's Wigmore jazz series under Redman's curatorship.

Joshua Redman returns to the Western Hemisphere for a few spring and summer festivals in North and South America, starting with a June 4 performance at The Town Hall in New York City with the quartet featured on Walking Shadows—Brad Mehldau, Larry Grenadier, Brian Blade—and an orchestra, as part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival.

See below for all of the currently scheduled tour dates. For additional details and tickets links, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour or head to Redman's newly redesigned website, joshuaredman.com.

This past weekend, Joshua Redman joined The Bad Plus for a double bill with the Brad Mehldau Trio at Royce Hall in Los Angeles. The show closed with a performance by Redman and The Bad Plus culminating in what the Los Angeles Times calls "an all-out reach for the outer limits in a free-playing fury of sound and energy that came in waves, each one reaching a new, cathartic peak, only to be blown away by another crashing behind it." Late last month, Redman performed at the New Orleans Jazz Fest, giving a set that the Times-Picayune says " hit most of the modern jazz pleasure centers."
