k.d. lang Announces Spring, Summer Tour Dates
    James Minchin III

k.d. lang has just confirmed a series of new shows in North America this spring and summer with her band the Siss Boom Bang. The band is featured on lang's latest album, Sing it Loud, which was released in April 2011 on Nonesuch Records, and joined her on an extensive tour across the globe in support of the record all last year that came to a rousing close with a weeks-long tour of Australia. The first date on the upcoming tour is slated for May 8 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, followed by stops across the Midwest, down South, on the East Coast, and back out West, as well as sets slated for festivals like Spoleto, Telluride, and more.

See below for all of the currently scheduled tour dates and head to nonesuch.com/on-tour for details and tickets links. Check back frequently as new dates are added.

Sing it Loud is lang's first record made entirely with a band of her own since the pair of albums with the Reclines that launched her career over 20 years ago. "The big, beautiful voice of k.d. lang swoops, purrs and soars" on the album, says the Los Angeles Times. USA Today says it "nods to lang's alt-country roots while reinforcing her reputation as a singer of genre-defying dexterity and beauty." To pick up a copy, head to the Nonesuch Store, where orders include high-quality, 320 kbps MP3s of the album at checkout.

Conor Oberst has shared the music video for "Till St. Dymphna Kicks Us Out," from his forthcoming album, Salutations. The video, directed by Greg Marinaccio, was filmed at the very same bar in Manhattan's East Village that inspired the song. You can watch it here and download the track (and three others) now when you pre-order Salutations. Oberst, with The Felice Brothers as his backing band, will tour in support of Salutations beginning March 9 in his hometown of Omaha, including several just-announced new dates.
