Now that Natalie Merchant's brief spring tour of select US cities introducing music from her new album, Leave Your Sleep, has come to a close, Merchant has announced that, following her upcoming European tour, she will return to the States for a wide-scale, nationwide summer tour. Beginning July 12, the seven-week tour will be her first major outing in seven years. Merchant and her band will perform new material as well as favorites from throughout her career.

Natalie Merchant's brief spring tour of select US cities introducing music from her recent Nonesuch debut album, Leave Your Sleep, came to a close on Saturday night with a performance at New York's (Le) Poisson Rouge for the PEN World Voices Festival's PEN Cabaret. Now comes word that, following her upcoming European tour, which kicks off next week in Brussels, Merchant will return to the United States for a wide-scale, nationwide summer tour.

Beginning July 12 at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, New Jersey, and running through September 1 at the Peace Center in Greenville, South Carolina, the seven-week tour will be Merchant’s first major outing in seven years. She and her 8-piece band will perform new material as well as favorites from throughout her career.

    Kronos Quartet has announced its ninth-annual Kronos Festival, to take place at SFJAZZ Center, June 20–23, 2024. The festival marks the ensemble’s milestone 50th Anniversary year and the farewell performances of John Sherba and Hank Dutt, members of Kronos Quartet for more than 45 years. It will feature a slate of world and Bay Area premieres commissioned as part of the KRONOS Five Decades season; several guest artists; and the final performance of A Thousand Thoughts, a live documentary chronicling the quartet’s career, written and directed by Sam Green and Joe Bini.
