Congratulations to all of the Nonesuch Records artists who were nominated for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, announced earlier today by The Recording Academy: Rhiannon Giddens, Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, Lianne La Havas, Punch Brothers, and Joshua Redman. Together, these artists' Nonesuch releases have garnered a total of eight nominations this year.

Punch Brothers have been nominated for three Grammy Awards this year: Best Americana Album for their latest album, The Phosphorescent Blues, produced by T Bone Burnett, and Best American Roots Song and Best American Roots Performance for the album track "Julep." "This band," says NPR, "makes the unimaginable contagious and fun. They push boundaries and make music like no one else." Punch Brothers received an Americana Honors & Awards nomination for Duo/Group of the Year earlier this year.

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell's second duo album, The Traveling Kind, earned them two Grammy nominations this year: Best Americana Album and Best American Roots Song for the title track, which they co-wrote with Cory Chisel. Produced by Joe Henry, the album follows the longtime friends’ Grammy-winning first duet album, 2013’s Old Yellow Moon. "Here, they consciously embrace the full breadth of their expression," says NPR. "This is what it sounds like when true equals, both deep into their journeys, draw out the best in each other." Rolling Stone says: "Their creative partnership sounds stronger than ever."

Rhiannon Giddens has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Folk Album for her solo debut album, Tomorrow Is My Turn. The album was recently named among the Best Albums of 2015 by Rolling Stone and NPR and among the Top 10 Folk Albums and Top 10 Americana Albums according to MOJO. Rolling Stone calls Giddens "a rare voice bound for glory." NPR says: "Tomorrow Is My Turn runs on an engine of irrepressible enthusiasm and a degree of sheer talent that, when encountered at full strength, is, fittingly, downright giddy-making."

Lianne La Havas receives her first Grammy Award nod with this year's nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her new album, Blood. "The album demands, and rewards, all the attention you can give it," raves Rolling Stone. "La Havas is a powerhouse with a full heart," says NPR, "creating music that's sweeping, inspiring and downright fun."

Joshua Redman has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Improvised Jazz Solo for his performance of his tune "Friend or Foe" off the self-titled debut album from The Bad Plus Joshua Redman. "The album is a knockout," exclaims the New York Times. "It is impressive how much vital presence [Joshua Redman] brings to the Bad Plus without altering the band’s dynamic." It's "a roaring and beautiful summit meeting," says NPR. "The ideas are impressive by themselves, but become more powerful as Redman and the rhythm section go about developing them ... [T]he real triumph of The Bad Plus Joshua Redman: It exhibits genuinely fresh thinking."

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS. For more information, including a complete list of the nominees, visit grammy.com.
