Gabriel Kahane gives two sold-out performances at Tippet Rise Art Center in picturesque Fishtail, Montana, on Saturday. In the morning, he is joined by Dover Quarter for a program of works by composer/pianist Timo Andres and Dvořák, as well as Kahane’s own Come On All You Ghosts. Later that evening, Kahane and the quartet are joined by Andres and Kahane’s father, Jeffrey, on piano, performing works by Bach arranged by Kurtág, Schumann arranged by Debussy, Britten, and Dvořák, as well as originals from Kahane and Andres. That program includes a pre-concert talk.

Kahane makes his Nonesuch debut next month with the release of Book of Travelers, a musical travelogue about the train trip he took after the 2016 Presidential election and the people he met along the way. The album is available to pre-order now with an instant download of three songs from the album. Bandcamp and Nonesuch Store pre-orders also include a limited-edition signed print.

Sam Amidon plays a set at Endcliffe Park in Sheffield, United Kingdom, on Sunday, as part of Folk Forest festival. The Evening Standard gives his latest album, The Following Mountain, four stars, praising its “captivating arrangements and elegiac charm.”

---

David Byrne has brought his American Utopia world tour to Italy, performing at Arena Santa Giuliana in Perguia tonight, as part of Umbria Jazz Festival, and Piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste on Saturday. NME declares that the concert “may just be the best live show of all time … making a strong case for [the album’s] near instant-classic status.” He and his band bring the tour back to the states next weekend for the Panorama Festival in New York City.

“[Music] tells you that being odd or different might be OK and might even be fun,” Bryne tells the Financial Times in a recent interview. “Music tells them they’re not alone, there are other people out there who are like them or as odd as they feel themselves to be.” You can read what else he had to say here.

---

Fleet Foxes begin the next leg of their North American tour with a concert at Taft Theatre in Cincinnati tonight, followed by a set at Union Park in Chicago on Saturday, as part of Pitchfork Music Festival. Pitchfork has just unveiled a short film by choreographer, director, and performance artist Ryan Heffington set to Fleet Foxes' song "If You Need To, Keep Time On Me," from the band's Nonesuch debut album, Crack-Up; watch it here.

---

Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express perform songs from their 2015 album, Junun, continuing their North American tour as special guests of Radiohead, with sold-out shows at Air Canada Centre in Toronto tonight and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Sunday. Exclaim!, reviewing a concert in Montreal earlier this week, called the band’s set a “serpentine celebration of international sounds.”

Last week, Shye Ben Tzur and the Rajasthan Express stopped by the WNYC studios as guests on New Sounds' Soundcheck. Ben Tzur spoke with host John Schaefer about the album and joined the band to perform songs from it. You can watch the complete set here.

---

Lake Street Dive concludes the current leg of its North American Free Yourself Up tour in Texas this weekend, playing The Bomb Factory in Dallas tonight and ACL Live at The Moody Theatre in Austin on Saturday. The Dallas Observer, in recommending tonight’s show, writes that the band “can swing through raucous dance numbers, harmonize with pure, spine-tingling emotion and dig deep into those myriad musical inspirations for spirited covers.” The tour picks up again in late August.

---

Brad Mehldau and his trio—Larry Grenadier on bass and Jeff Ballard on drums—continue their European tour in support of their new album, Seymour Reads the Constitution!, in Italy, performing at Teatro D'Annunzio in Pescara tonight, as part of Pescara Jazz Festival, and Rocca Malatestiana in Fano on Saturday, as part of Fano Jazz by the Sea.

---

Natalie Merchant continues her sold-out A Summer Evening With... tour of intimate and historic venues across the UK at The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh tonight and Sage Gateshead on Saturday. The Times, in its four-star review of this week’s show in Bath, praises Merchant’s “crystalline vibrato” and “smoky, bluesy purr.”

---

Robert Plant and his band the Sensational Space Shifters continue the current leg of their European Carry Fire tour with a set at Vieilles Charrues Festival in Carhaix, France, on Sunday. Plant and the band return to the states for a run of newly announced shows in September.

---

Punch Brothers, whose new album, All Ashore, is out now, continue their extensive US summer tour with two shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville tonight and Saturday, before heading to North Carolina for a concert at Durham Performing Arts Center on Sunday. The Lexington Herald-Leader, reviewing the band’s set at Forecastle Festival last weekend, praised the “crystalline delicacy” of their playing.

Before hitting the Ryman stage, the band celebrates today’s release of the new album with a Facebook Live Q&A in partnership with The Bluegrass Situation, starting at 3pm CT today. Tune in then here.

---

Saxophonist Joshua Redman continues his tour of Europe as special guest of the Billy Hart Quartet with a set at Place Pierre Betz in Souillac, France, on Saturday, as part of Souillac en Jazz.
