David Byrne and Fleet Foxes take their European tours to flagship festivals on the Continent this weekend: Roskilde in Denmark and Rock Werchter in Belgium.

Byrne brings his American Utopia world tour to the Arena stage at Roskilde tonight, performing at midnight local time, preceded by Fleet Foxes earlier in the night. Fleet Foxes head to The Barn at Werchter on Saturday night, with Byrne taking the stage on Sunday night.

NME declares that Byrne’s American Utopia concert is “making a strong case for [the album’s] near instant-classic status.” Uncut calls Fleet Foxes’ new album, Crack-Up, “astonishing … a recipe for total entertainment forever.”

Sam Amidon plays a set at Provinciedomein Bergelen in Gullegem, Belgium, on Saturday, as part of Bos! Festival. The Evening Standard gives Amidon’s latest album, The Following Mountain, four stars, praising its “captivating arrangements and elegiac charm.”

Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express perform songs from their 2015 album, Junun, beginning a North American tour as special guests of Radiohead, with sold-out shows at United Center in Chicago tonight and Saturday. The Times of London called Junun “one of the most inspired releases of the year ... Intriguing, sinuous, and essential listening.”

---

Kronos Quartet performs at Trenčin Airport in Trenčin, Slovakia, on Saturday, as part of Pohoda Festival. The program includes the world premiere of Miroslav Tóth’s Tentacles Reaching Out, a piece by Philip Glass, and several works written and composed for the quartet’s Fifty for the Future commissioning project.

Lake Street Dive continues its North American Free Yourself Up tour with a concert at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine, on Saturday, and a set at Marshfield Fair Grounds in Marshfield, Massachusetts, on Sunday, as part of the sold-out Levitate Music & Arts Festival.

Moreno and Van Dyke Parks released a heartfelt interpretation of David Rudder's song “The Immigrants” earlier this week, with proceeds going to the Central American Resource Center of California (CARECEN), a community-based, nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower Central Americans and all immigrants by defending human and civil rights, working for social and economic justice, and promoting cultural diversity.

Thile and his fellow Punch Brothers release a new album, All Ashore, on July 20. “It's a meditation on committed relationships in the present day,” says Thile, “particularly in the present climate.”
