Happy Father's Day weekend! The 42nd annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival, which officially kicked off yesterday in the beautiful environs of Telluride, Colorado, with a performance from Rhiannon Giddens and a Happy Hour workshop from Punch Brothers, among others, continues through this summer solstice weekend with main-stage performances from Punch Brothers, Chris Thile, and Ry Cooder.

Punch Brothers take the main stage tonight with songs from their latest album, The Phosphorescent Blues, and more. And, as has become a tradition, properly close out the festival with a powerful late-night NightGrass performance at Sheridan Opera House Sunday night.

Punch Brothers’ own Chris Thile performs with bassist Edgar Meyer earlier on Sunday. The duo won a Grammy for their most recent collaboration, Bass & Mandolin, released on Nonesuch last year.

Just before Punch Brothers close out the proceedings, Ry Cooder joins his current tour mates, singer Sharon White and country/bluegrass musician Ricky Skaggs—who perform at Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder tonight—to close out the festival’s main stage with a final set Sunday night.

---

Sam Amidon continues his US tour, featuring music from his latest album, Lily-O, and more, with two performances in the Northeast this weekend: at Signal Kitchen with San Fermin in Burlington, Vermont, tonight, and at Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival (aka the Clearwater Festival) at Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, Sunday. Inspired by Pete Seeger’s desire to clean up the Hudson River over 40 years ago, revenues from the Clearwater Festival go to support the numerous educational programs of Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc. and its work toward environmental and social justice.

---

The Bad Plus Joshua Redman continues its summer tour and a four-night residency at Seattle’s Jazz Alley with shows all this weekend. The quartet, whose eponymous debut album was released last month, has one set tonight and Sunday and two sets on Saturday.

---

Olivia Chaney continues her North American tour with performances at Zanzabar in Louisville, Kentucky, with the Tillers, tonight, and at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sunday.

---

Rhiannon Giddens closes out her spring US tour with a performance at Yadkin Arts Council in Yadkinville in her home state of North Carolina on Saturday. She heads to London at the end of the month to kick off a three-week tour of the UK and Europe before returning to the States to resume her US tour with a free set at Celebrate Brooklyn! July 18. Giddens’ debut solo album, Tomorrow Is My Turn, was named one of Rolling Stone’s 45 Best Albums of 2015 So Far earlier this week.

The album "is a tour de force of versatility and feminine power," says the Winston-Salem Journal in a preview of this weekend’s performance. "Giddens takes iconic songs such as Patsy Cline's 'She Got You' and Odetta's 'Waterboy' and makes them her own, and she shines a light on some forgotten gems like Dolly Parton's 'Don't Let It Trouble Your Mind.'"

---

Jonny Greenwood joins soloists from the London Contemporary Orchestra for a performance of music from his film scores and more at the Best Kept Secret Festival at Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands, Sunday. They will perform a similar set at the Open’er Festival in Poland in July and at David Byrne’s Meltdown in London in August.

---

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell kick off their tour of Australia with a performance at Perth Concert Hall on Sunday. “The way their voices blend is pure delight,” wrote the Australian in a review of their most recent album, The Traveling Kind. “Both fall effortlessly in behind the other, never upstaging and always supporting.”

---

k.d. lang joins author and meditation teacher Pema Chödrön for a special event at Royce Hall in Los Angeles Saturday to benefit Tools for Peace, of which lang is a board member, and the Pema Chödrön Foundation. Following a dialogue between Chödrön and moderator Tami Simon, lang joins in on the conversation to offer her own insights on creativity and meditation and then closes out the night with a musical performance.

---

Conor Oberst closes out his US tour with a performance in his home state of Nebraska, at Vega in Lincoln tonight, and a set at the Rock the Garden festival at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis Saturday.
