John Adams conducts the New World Symphony, with Timo Andres and Jonathan Biss on pianos, at New World Center in Miami on Saturday. The program includes Adams’s two fanfares for orchestra, Short Ride in a Fast Machine and Tromba lontana, both of which can be heard on his 1987 Nonesuch album, The Chairman Dances; Andres’s The Blind Banister, a finalist for the 2016 Pulitzer Prize performed by Biss, its dedicatee; the East Coast premiere of Ingram Marshall’s Flow, performed by Andres; and works by David Lang and Samuel Adams. Ticketholders are invited to attend a pre-concert talk.

Sam Amidon continues his North American spring tour, bringing music from his latest album, The Following Mountain, to Club Passim in Cambridge with two sets tonight, before heading up to Canada for shows at O Patro Vys in Montreal on Saturday and Rivoli in Toronto on Sunday.

Dan Auerbach continues his Easy Eye Sound Revue with a sold-out show at Agora Theater in Cleveland on Saturday. He discussed the Revue with Rolling Stone last week; you can read the interview here.

Jeremy Denk joins the Seattle Symphony, conducted by Ludovic Morlot, in performing Beethoven’s "Emperor" Concerto at Benaroya Hall in the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium today at noon. The program also includes Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2, and a pre-concert talk.

Richard Goode began a three night run with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, led by Andrew Manze, at Walt Disney Concert Hall last night, and continues with performances tonight and Saturday. On the program are Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 18, “Paradis”; Bacewicz’s Overture; and Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Symphony No. 6 in E minor.

Goode recorded Mozart’s Piano Concertos Nos. 18 and 20 with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra for Nonesuch in 1996. The San Francisco Examiner-Chronicle gave the recording five stars, exclaiming: “This is an exquisite disc, pure and simple … marked by grace, beauty and formidable intelligence.”

Tigran Hamasyan is in Germany this weekend, joining the Yerevan State Chamber Choir, led by Harutyun Topikyan, for a sold-out performance of his piece for piano and voices Luys i luso at Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg tonight. From there, he heads to Stuttgart, playing solo at Theaterhaus on Saturday.

“Tigran Hamasyan is such a talent, and his new album is as good as anything he has ever done,” said BBC Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum when playing music from Hamasyan’s new EP, For Gyumri, on his show last week. “A beautiful piece of music. Incredible. Another amazing release on Nonesuch Records.”

Brad Mehldau brings his Three Pieces After Bach program to MC2 in Grenoble, France, this evening. As with his new album, After Bach, the program pairs pieces from J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier with Mehldau’s own pieces inspired by Bach. The concert will be broadcast live on France Musique's Open Jazz program beginnign at 8:30pm CEST; fans around the world can tune in live at francemusique.fr.

BBC Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum calls it “absolutely beautiful. It’s one of those records you listen to from beginning to end and it leaves something behind in your heart afterwards.” BBC Music Magazine, in its five-star review, calls it “deeply moving.”

Robert Plant and his band the Sensational Space Shifters continue their tour of Australia, bringing music from his new album, Carry Fire, to Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm in Byron Bay tonight, for a set at Byron Bay Bluesfest. They perform a headlining show at Palais Theatre in Melbourne on Sunday.

The Sydney Morning Herald, in its four-star review of the band’s show at State Theatre last weekend, says “it's a pleasure to spend a couple of hours with [Plant] and his band.”

    Vagabon (aka Laetitia Tamko) will support the band Crumb on tour this October. The shows begin in California—Santa Cruz, Oakland, and Sacramento—then head to Salt Lake City and Denver and on to Texas—Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso—and Albuquerque and back to California to close out the tour in Santa Ana, San Diego, and Los Angeles.

    Composer/guitarist Yasmin Williams—whose first song on Nonesuch, "Dawning," was released late last year ahead of her label debut album, due later this year—will support Brittany Howard and Michael Kiwanuka on their North American fall tour. The shows begin at The Met in Philadelphia on September 29, and include stops in Boston, New York, Saint Paul, Denver, Boise, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, Berkeley, Los Angeles, and more.
