The Arcs, fresh off the release of their debut album, Yours, Dreamily, make their television debut with a performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS tonight. They then play to a sold-out crowd at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on Saturday night. Fans around the world can tune in to watch the show stream live on the Live Nation Channel on Yahoo, starting at 10:15 PM ET.

The Arcs will embark on a tour of Europe this November, followed by a North American tour in December. Tickets are on sale now.

Yours, Dreamily, has received high praise, and Rolling Stone, in its four star review, says the record “takes what [Dan] Auerbach does at his best, in and out of the Keys—confessional, texturally enriched blues propelled with garage-rock force—and adds a riveting jump in eccentricity."

---

Laurie Anderson is among the 15 women profiled in the latest feature from American Masters: The Women’s List, which premieres on PBS stations across the United States tonight. Anderson and her fellow subjects, including Madeleine Albright, Alicia Keys, and Nancy Pelosi, tell their stories as trailblazers in their respective fields, sharing their experiences of overcoming challenges to make their voices heard.

You can take a sneak peek of Anderson’s segment on pbs.org.

Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, a core band featuring several of the original musicians from Buena Vista Social Club, continues its "Adios" tour of North America with a sold out show in Toronto’s Koerner Hall on Sunday. Musicians from the original Grammy Award–winning album perform, including band leader and trombonist Jesús “Aguaje” Ramos, trumpeter Guajiro Mirabal, laúd virtuoso Barbarito Torres, vocalist and guitarist Eliades Ochoa, and vocalist Omara Portuondo, along with a younger generation of Cuban musicians, such as vocalist Carlos Calunga and pianist Rolando Luna.

---

Ry Cooder's tour with Sharon White and Ricky Skaggs—the Cooder-White-Skaggs tour—continues as well, with a show at the Granada Theater in Dallas tonight, and the MIM Music Theater in Phoenix on Sunday.

---

Jeremy Denk concludes a trio of shows in the United Kingdom with the Britten Sinfonia chamber orchestra, performing Bach and Stravinsky, at St. Andrew’s Hall in Norwich tonight, and the West Road Concert Hall in Cambridge on Sunday. Denk gives a pre-concert talk before both shows.

---

Rhiannon Giddens continues to tour the US behind her recently released debut album, Tomorrow Is My Turn, with a show in Duke University’s Page Auditorium in Durham, North Carolina, tonight and an afternoon set at Washington, DC’s Landmark Music Festival, in West Potomac Park, on Sunday.

Prior to her upcoming show in Charleston this coming Tuesday, Giddens spoke with the Charleston Scene’s Abigail Darlington, who calls the new album “a collection of gospel, country, folk and blues that … allows Giddens to explore the depth of her chops beyond what she’s been able to do with the string band.” You can read the full article at charlestonscene.com.

---

Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell take their US tour westward, performing music from their two duo albums, The Traveling Kind and Old Yellow Moon, and much more at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, Colorado, tonight, and the Fox Tucson Theatre, in Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune, reviewing a show earlier this week, calls it “a savvy late-career move executed brilliantly … a double-scoop treat with a cherry on top.”

---

Lianne La Havas takes her North American tour to New York’s Terminal 5 on Saturday. She performs songs from her debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, and her recently released album, Blood, which Rolling Stone says "demands, and rewards, all the attention you can give it.”

----

Brad Mehldau heads to Germany for two solo performances: at Schinkel-Kirche in Neuhardenberg tonight and E-Werk Concert Hall on Saturday as part of the Freiburg Jazz Festival. In a special bit of programming in the latter performance, Mehldau pays tribute to John Dowland in a concert titled after the English composer’s piece Seaven Teares.

Nonesuch releases Brad Mehldau's 10 Years Solo Live eight-LP vinyl box set, culled from 19 live recordings made over a decade of the pianist's European solo concerts, on October 16, with the four-CD set to follow in November.

---

Natalie Merchant joins the Bard Conservatory Orchestra, conducted by James Bagwell, in a benefit concert for the Bard College Conservatory of Music, at the college’s Fisher Center on Saturday.

Merchant’s new album, Paradise Is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings, due November 6, features new recordings of the beloved songs of her multi-platinum solo debut album, Tigerlily, as well as an accompanying documentary. In anticipation of the release, she has unveiled a series of videos featuring outtakes from the film. In one video featuring the song "Beloved Wife," people share their heartfelt stories of what the song has meant to them, accompanied by footage of Merchant performing the song live with her band. You can watch it here.

---

Pat Metheny heads to Japan for the Blue Note Jazz Festival, performing at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse in Yokohama on Sunday. He takes part in Sweden’s Uppsala International Guitar Festival next month.

---

Punch Brothers make two festival appearances this weekend, hitting the Pilgrimage Festival’s Harpeth River stage in Franklin, Tennessee, just before Dr. John on Saturday, and the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival stage in Columbia, Missouri, just before Brandi Carlile’s closing set on Sunday.
