Punch Brothers return with All Ashore, their first album since 2015's The Phosphorescent Blues, out this Friday, July 20. Here, the band members talk with writer Michael Hill about their first self-produced album and how it came to be.

Punch Brothers, whose new album, All Ashore, is out next Friday, July 20, kick off an extensive US summer tour at the Gaillard Center in Charleston, South Carolina. There are some forty shows to follow across the country through September, from Charlotte to Chicago, New Orleans to New York City, Buffalo to Boise to Boston to Baton Rouge. Punch Brothers were on the season finale of public radio's Live From Here hosted by Chris Thile on June 30, performing songs from their forthcoming album, All Ashore, out next week. Punch Brothers performed "Three Dots and a Dash," from their forthcoming album, All Ashore, at Nashville's Layman Drug Company for a new video made by Alex Chaloff; watch it here. Punch Brothers' first self-produced album, All Ashore, is due July 20, 2018, from Nonesuch, with the vinyl on September 7. The record includes nine original songs written by the band. "It's a meditation on committed relationships in the present day, particularly in the present political climate," says Chris Thile. Punch Brothers play the Telluride Bluegrass Festival on June 24 before embarking on a US tour.

Punch Brothers have shared a video of their live performance of "Julep," a song from their 2015 album, The Phosphorescent Blues, at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio, last summer. You can watch it here. The video comes about a month before the band's return to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, not long after which the big US summer tour begins (and after that, a European autumn tour).

Punch Brothers have announced a two-week tour of Europe this autumn, starting at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen on November 5. The tour includes concerts at the Barbican in London, Le Trianon in Paris, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, and many more.

Punch Brothers, who are hard at work on a new album, have announced a US summer tour, starting at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival just after the summer solstice and winding its way throughout the country and returning to Colorado for a set at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Gillian Welch just ahead of the vernal equinox. The tour also includes a few dates with Andrew Bird.

Punch Brothers performed on a special holiday edition of CBS This Morning's Saturday Sessions on December 23. The band was joined by Aoife O'Donovan on the Pogues' holiday classic "Fairytale of New York," and she, Chris Thile, and Chris Eldridge performed "Douglas Fir," from Thile's new album, Thanks for Listening. Punch Brothers also performed "Little Lights," from their album The Phosphorescent Blues. You can watch all three performances below.

Punch Brothers were the house band on Live From Here with Chris Thile, broadcast live from The Town Hall in NYC on Saturday. The group debuted a new song, "Locked In," as the Song of the Week, and joined the week's guests on several songs, including Jeff Tweedy on Wilco's "Poor Places." You can watch both here. The band will perform on a special holiday edition of CBS This Morning's Saturday Sessions on December 23.

Punch Brothers and I'm With Her (Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O'Donovan) join forces this summer for the American Acoustic US tour, starting at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine, Saturday, with dates at the Newport Folk Festival, Wolf Trap, NYC's Beacon Theatre, and more. Guitarist Julian Lage joins the bands, which will play a mix of featured sets and collaborations, as a special guest. Watch a video of Chris Thile explaining how it will all work here.

Punch Brothers begin a US tour with a performance at ACL Live at the Moody Theater in Austin tonight. The two-week tour includes concerts in Dallas, Kansas City, Boulder, Denver, and Nashville, as well as festival sets at Blue Ox, Telluride Bluegrass, and more. The band will join forces with I'm With Her (Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O'Donovan) and guitarist Julian Lage for the American Acoustic tour in July and August.
