The Low Anthem and Punch Brothers recently performed at the legendary Newport Folk Festival; both bands' sets were streamed live in full on NPR.org. The Low Anthem's home state performance garnered great reviews, including one from the Boston Globe, which wrote that a "fiery spirit imbued the Low Anthem’s set earlier on the same stage, with the Providence band once again proving its quick ascent was warranted." In their review of the festival, American Songwriter magazine called Punch Brothers' set "a deft fusion of old and new."

Punch Brothers were featured on the latest episode of NPR's Weekend Edition. Host Jacki Lydon describes their latest release, Antifogmatic, as "10 delectable tunes," and comments that though the band members have their roots in bluegrass, the album is more varied in its sound; she notes that "the band takes bluegrass instrumentation and combines it with elements of classical music and rock 'n roll."

Punch Brothers' US tour takes them far north to the Alyeska Resort in Alaska this weekend. The Huffington Post compares the band to the Beatles as artists who "redefine a genre of music for the ages," calling Chris Thile "a compositional genius" and saying all five band members "play with an energy and a passion of trailblazers." Billboard says the band "is building a case for bigger fame" with their new album, Antifogmatic.

Punch Brothers follow the success of their recent Caramoor appearance with three shows in Michigan later this week. The Associated Press says their new album, "Antifogmatic, has more range than your average bluegrass album. There’s an old-time feel to some songs. But several songs have a progressive feel that rises above genre limitations." Spinner looks at producer Jon Brion's role in bringing the band's unique acoustic sound to disc.

The Punch Brothers played the "American Roots, New Shoots" series at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah, New York, this past weekend, in a mini-festival showcasing "new perspectives on traditional American music." The New York Times describes the "supremely entertaining" show as "cleverly splintered and episodic, with touches of breathless emotion and ... humor."

Punch Brothers' Antifogmatic earns four stars from American Songwriter, which says the album's "celebratory, joyful feeling permeates the interplay between each of the band’s virtuoso members ... Antifogmatic also delivers quality songs [with] hummable melodies that stick with you." The A.V. Club says "Antifogmatic is as warm and welcoming as the bracing 19th-century drink that gave it its name."

Punch Brothers spent the weekend at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, for Garden & Gun magazine's Soul of the South Weekend, and perform next weekend at the Caramoor Festival in Katonah, New York. The band's new album, Antifogmatic, is on the latest Sunday New York Times Playlist. "Punch Brothers tuck their instrumental prowess into songs, behind or between the arching melodies carried by [Chris] Thile’s high, aching voice," says the Times. "Emotion still outweighs technique."

Punch Brothers close out a banner week with Rhapsody naming their new album, Antifogmatic, Album of the Day, calling its songs "so strong and the emotional impact of the material so direct" that they supersede their complex mix of genres. Relix says: "In the world of acoustic music, mandolinist Chris Thile is arguably the most elastic and wildly imaginative player/singer/composer of his generation. He has met his matches in his fellow Punch Brothers," and their new album "is better than the best of all their worlds."

Punch Brothers are back in their adopted hometown of New York City, where they first crafted the songs on their new album, Antifogmatic, for a show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn. Following a weekend at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Punch Brothers return to their adopted home of New York City to perform songs from their new album, Antifogmatic, in Brooklyn on Wednesday. Punch Brothers have been celebrating the release of their new album, Antifogmatic, touring with Steve Martin. Tonight, the band will perform the album track "Rye Whiskey" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The band was at Bonnaroo last Friday, photos from which are now on nonesuch.com/media.
