    Watch: Randy Newman Performs on PBS's "Austin City Limits"

    Randy Newman, whose new live performance CD+DVD Live in London is out now, made his Austin City Limits TV debut this past weekend with an hour-long episode on PBS. You can watch the first 20 minutes of the episode here and the complete show at video.pbs.org, available until December 10. The Independent and the Daily Mail give Live in London four stars; the Sunday Times calls it "essential listening for anyone who cares about the art of songwriting."

    Watch: Randy Newman to Make "Austin City Limits" Debut on PBS

    Randy Newman, whose new live performance CD+DVD Live in London was released this week, is set to make his Austin City Limits television debut when the show presents an episode dedicated exclusively to his work this Saturday, November 12, on PBS stations across the US. The set list features 17 songs from throughout Newman's career, including "Short People," "Political Science," and "You Can Leave Your Hat On."     "Randy Newman: Live in London" DVD & CD of Performance with BBC Concert Orchestra Out Now

    While touring in support of his 2008 album Harps and Angels, Randy Newman performed a special concert at London’s intimate LSO St. Luke’s. He was accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Robert Ziegler, and the program was televised by the BBC. The concert is out now on CD+DVD as Randy Newman: Live in London. (The UK release follows next week.) Time Out London calls it "essential viewing for fans." Newman makes his Austin City Limits television debut on PBS this Saturday and will tour Europe in February and March.

    Randy Newman to Tour Europe in February, March 2012

    Randy Newman will play three UK concerts as part of a European tour in February and March 2012 to coincide with the release of the CD/DVD album package Randy Newman: Live in London in November. The tour includes dates in Gateshead, Glasgow, and London, as well as cities in Belgium, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland.

    Randy Newman is the guest on this week's episode of On Canvas, the performing arts program from Philadelphia public television station WHYY. Newman's performance was recorded at the Scottish Rite Theatre in Collingswood, New Jersey, shortly before the release of his latest album, Songbook Vol. 2. Philadelphia-area fans can tune in tonight at 10 PM ET on WHYY. Fans around the world can watch the complete episode online starting Friday morning.     Nonesuch to Release "Randy Newman: Live in London" DVD & CD of Performance with BBC Concert Orchestra November 8

    Randy Newman's Set "One of the Most Magical Things" of Austin City Limits Music Festival, Says Houston Press

    Randy Newman helped make this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival a success this past weekend. "We still don't know how a 67-year-old turned in our favorite set of this past weekend's Austin City Limits Festival," raves the Houston Press, "but heck if Randy Newman didn't leave us on a musical high ... Newman solo onstage with just his compositions, a smile, and an adoring crowd was one of the most magical things we would see this weekend." Newman stayed on in Austin to record his set for PBS's Austin City Limits, which will air on November 12.

    Randy Newman's "Austin City Limits" Performance to Air on PBS November 12; Headlines ACL Festival

    Randy Newman is set to take the stage in Austin's Zilker Park as a headliner at the Austin City Limits Music Festival this weekend. The Austin American-Statesman calls him "a friend to anyone who appreciates impeccably crafted songs." Newman will stay in town for another day to record his performance on PBS's Austin City Limits, which will air for the show's full hour on Saturday, November 12.

    Randy Newman will perform before a live studio studio audience at the new ACL Live at The Moody Theater in Austin, Texas, on September 19, recorded for future broadcast on PBS's Austin City Limits upcoming season.     Randy Newman's Australia Tour to Conclude with Two Sydney Symphony Shows at Sydney Opera House

    Randy Newman, who performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra over the weekend, concludes his Australian tour with two shows with the Sydney Symphony at the Sydney Opera House this week. The Age and Sydney Morning Herald laud Newman as "one of the greatest songwriters of the past 50 years," whose "work proves yet again that on the big questions, all too often the artists can illuminate the truth better than the essayists, the journalists and, perhaps less surprisingly, the politicians." His recent appearances on ABC Radio National's The Music Show and 702 ABC Sydney Afternoons are now online.
