    Robb Bradley

Congratulations to Randy Newman, winner of the PRS for Music Special International Award at the 58th Ivor Novello Awards in a ceremony held at Grosvenor House in London last night. The awards, which honor excellence in music writing, are presented by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and judged by the writing community. Peter Gabriel presented Newman with his award at the ceremony.

Randy Newman was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which took place at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles last month. The ceremony will be presented on HBO this Saturday, May 18, at 9 PM ET/PT. Randy Newman was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Don Henley and gave a performance with Jackson Browne, John Fogerty, and Tom Petty at the ceremony. Three of Newman's fellow inductees—Heart, Public Enemy, and Rush—performed as well. The ceremony also honored Albert King and Donna Summer, as well as Lou Adler and Quincy Jones, this year’s recipients of the Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement. For more information on the broadcast, visit hbo.com.

Newman will perform live in concert at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey, on June 14 as part of the organization's gala celebration of film. Later this summer, he performs in northern California, Seattle, and Portland. For additional details and ticket links, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.

Olivia Chaney's new album, Shelter, is out now on Nonesuch. Produced by Thomas Bartlett, the album is eight original songs plus Chaney's takes on songs by Purcell and the Everly Brothers. She has also released a video for the track "House on a Hill," filmed at the rustic, 18th-century cottage in the hills of the North Yorkshire Moors where she made the record. Watch it here. The Observer cites Chaney's "dazzling vocals" and calls Shelter "an elegant, luminous album." Uncut calls it "transcendent refuge from the storm." The Daily Mirror says it's "a triumph." Chaney performs in London on June 19; tickets are on sale now for her North American summer tour.
