Fresh off yesterday's release on Nonesuch of Richard Goode's recording of the complete Beethoven piano concertos and his performance last night at Carnegie Hall, Goode joins WNYC's Leonard Lopate for a performance on today's show. The Huffington Post exclaims that the album's release signals "a great day for classical music," asserting: "If you're in the mood to hear five of the greater piano concertos ever written ... then Richard Goode's your man. Oh, there are other pianists who have climbed this mountain, but of the living practitioners, Goode stands alone. He's given the bulk of his creative life to Beethoven. And it shows."

Richard Goode's series of concerts with the Boston Symphony Orchestra comes to a close Tuesday night. The Boston Globe, in a preview of this May's release of Goode's complete piano concertos with Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, looks back at the pianist's 1993 collection of the Beethoven piano sonatas and says it "stands as one of the most important statements made about this music in recent decades." Goode, whom the St. Louis Post-Dispatch calls "a musician's musician," will perform Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto this weekend with David Robertson and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.

The schedule for the 2008 Gilmore Keyboard Festival has been released, and among the artists on the bill for the biannual event are Richard Goode, Audra McDonald, and the Brad Mehldau Trio. The Festival will be held April 24–May 13, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The Times (London) gives four stars to Richard Goode's November 7 performance with Dawn Upshaw at London's Southbank Centre. The concert was the pianist's first in a series there as artist-in-residence for the 2007–08 season. The pianist's solo work, which included an "always movingly lyrical performance" of Berg's Piano Sonata was "quite some feast." And for Upshaw, there was "a new depth and focus" in the singer's work.

Richard Goode will be Petroc Trelawny's guest on BBC Radio 3's Music Matters, the station's flagship classical music program, on Saturday, November 3. The two discuss Goode's 45-year career and the joy he finds in collaborating with Dawn Upshaw, with whom he'll perform next week at London's Southbank Centre. Music Matters begins at 12:15 GMT on Radio 3.
