Shawn Colvin is the guest on NPR's World Cafe today. She discusses her memoir, Diamond in the Rough, and performs songs from her new album, All Fall Down with Buddy Miller, who produced the album, and bassist Viktor Krauss. Shawn Colvin is the guest on NPR's World Cafe today. She talks about her memoir, Diamond in the Rough, and performs songs from her new album, All Fall Down. The music was recorded live at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia shortly after the album's release on Nonesuch Records in June. Joining Colvin for the performance are her longtime friend and cohort Buddy Miller, who produced the album, and bassist Viktor Krauss, who also performs on the album.     Cécile McLorin Salvant's acclaimed 2023 album, Mélusine, was released one year ago this week. To mark the occasion, we're sharing live performances of four songs from the album made at Oberlin College and Conservatory, starting with "Dites moi que je suis belle," featuring Weedie Braimah on djembe, followed by "Le temps est assassin" with Sullivan Fortner on piano and "Fenestra" and "Dame Iseut" with both Fortner and Braimah.
