Emmylou Harris's new album, Hard Bargain, is due out on Nonesuch April 26, less than two weeks away. A deluxe edition includes a DVD featuring six performances interspersed with interviews. The video for "Goodnight Old World," from the deluxe edition of the album, received its exclusive world premiere on CMT earlier this morning. You can watch the video below.
Hard Bargain's 13 tracks include 11 new songs by Harris that touch on the autobiographical while reaching for the universal. On “Goodnight Old World,” which she co-wrote with Will Jennings, Harris fashions a bittersweet lullaby to her newly born grandchild, contrasting a grown-up’s world-weariness with a baby’s wide-eyed wonder. The video, as with all the elements of the deluxe-edition DVD, was directed by Jack Spencer.
Head to the Nonesuch Store now to reserve your copy of Hard Bargain, along with an exclusive manuscript lyric sheet of the album's opening track, "The Road," a number of which will be signed by Harris. You can also download the song for free there.
