k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang performed two songs from their new album, Sing it Loud, on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week: "I Confess" and "Sugar Buzz." Watch them here. Also this week, lang appeared on The Monocle Weekly. The BBC says the album is "instantly striking," with songs that are "rich, masterful and seductive." The LA Times, reviewing last weekend's Stagecoach festival, describes lang as "wondrous," and her "performance provided an eminently satisfying conclusion."

The BBC says the album is "instantly striking," from the start, with its opening song, "I Confess." Reviewer Jaime Gill says lang's "vocals haven’t sounded this energetic and playful in many years. On I Confess she slides up and down scales like a purring pole dancer, a reminder that as well as perfect pitch and exquisite control, she has always had an incredibly, mysteriously sexy voice." Gill goes on to say that lang "remains utterly arresting" on Sing it Loud, its songs "rich, masterful and seductive." Read more at bbc.co.uk.

The Los Angeles Times, reviewing last weekend's Stagecoach country music festival, describes lang as "wondrous." Reviewer Randy Lewis says lang "has a technically exceptional voice, which she applies with equal facility to country, pop, soul and jazz-inflected songs ... After a weekend of dozens of performances across the broad spectrum of everything related to country, lang’s performance provided an eminently satisfying conclusion."
