Laurie Anderson recently participated in a lecture/performance and discussion at the Venice Biennale titled "A Short Talk on Places." She also sat down for a video interview on a wide range of subjects, including technology, music, the cultural ties that connect the world's cities, the art scene, the nature of dreams, the power of language, and her husband, Lou Reed. Earlier this month, Laurie Anderson participated in a lecture/performance and informal discussion at the 2011 Art Biennale in Venice titled "A Short Talk on Places." The event was one of the Biennale's "Meetings on Art," a series of seminars with artists, curators, philosophers, and scholars in conjunction with the 54th International Art Exhibition, ILLUMInations. During her stay at the Biennale, Laurie Anderson also sat down for a video interview with the event's organizers. In the interview, Anderson shares her thoughts on a wide range of subjects, including technology, music, the cultural ties that connect the world's cities, the ever-changing art scene, recollections from her childhood, the nature of dreams, the power of language, and the influence of her husband, Lou Reed. Laurie Anderson's next scheduled performance is a free concert at the Damrosch Park Bandshell in New York City as part of the Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival. She will be joined by frequent collaborators Rob Burger and Eyvind Kang, both of whom perform on Anderson's latest album, Homeland.
