The Arcs, whose debut album, Yours, Dreamily, is due September 4 on Nonesuch Records, recently stopped by The Village recording studios in Los Angeles, where they performed a live take of "Put a Flower in Your Pocket," off the new album. You can watch the performance below. This follows the recent unveiling of their performance of the album's first single, "Outta My Mind," from the same session, which you can watch here. The official music video for "Put a Flower in Your Pocket," directed by "El Oms" (artist Omar Juarez)—who created the art for the Yours, Dreamily, album cover—premiered last week; you can watch it here.

The Arcs are Dan Auerbach, Leon Michels, Richard Swift, Homer Steinweiss, and Nick Movshon. Also featured on the album are Kenny Vaughan and Mariachi Flor de Toloache. The group collaboratively wrote and recorded 13 tracks for Yours, Dreamily, with the musicians playing a large array of roles both vocally and instrumentally. Co-produced by Auerbach and Michels, the album was recorded in roughly two weeks through spontaneous, informal sessions across the country at the Sound Factory in Los Angeles, the Diamond Mine in Queens, Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, and in a lounge room at Electric Lady in Manhattan. Tchad Blake mixed the album on his horse farm in Wales.

The original cast album of Adam Guettel’s Broadway musical Days of Wine and Roses, with a book by Craig Lucas, starring Kelli O’Hara and Brian d’Arcy James, will be released on CD on May 17, following its recent digital release.  “Repeated listenings compound the amazement,” the New York Times says of Guettel’s work, which “has always offered that kind of challenge—initially leaving a feeling of: Beautiful, but wait, I need to hear it again—and those up for it have a way of coming away shining like Moses down from the Mount. The new score has the same effect.”
