    Wilco's Jeff Tweedy joined Cheryl Pawelski in conversation at a Recording Academy event in Chicago celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the band's groundbreaking album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. The super deluxe anniversary edition of the album, released in September 2022, earned them the Grammy Award for Best Historical Album in 2023 as compilation producers and writer Bob Mehr the Grammy for Best Album Notes. Featuring the band that was assembled after the release of 2004’s A ghost is born, Sky Blue Sky was the first studio album from a lineup that has remained the same to today: guitarist, singer, and principal songwriter Jeff Tweedy, bassist John Stirratt, percussionist Glenn Kotche, keyboardist Mikael Jorgensen, multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone, and avant-jazz guitarist Nels Cline.

    Seven special editions of Wilco's landmark 2002 album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot are out now. The now-classic record has been remastered and is available in each set. The Super Deluxe version has eleven vinyl LPs and one CD—including demos, drafts, and instrumentals, charting the making of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot—plus a live 2002 concert recording and a September 2001 radio performance and interview. That box set includes 82 previously unreleased music tracks as well as a new book featuring an interview with Jeff Tweedy, Glenn Kotche, and Jim O’Rourke; an in-depth essay by journalist/author Bob Mehr; and previously unseen photos of the band making the album in their Chicago studio. Pitchfork gives the set a perfect 10: "A sprawling new box set full of demos and alternate takes suggests a dazzling array of paths the Chicago group might have taken on their masterpiece."

    Wilco has released “A Magazine Called Sunset (The Unified Theory of Everything Version),” a previously unreleased version of the song from the forthcoming Super Deluxe and Deluxe editions of the group’s landmark 2002 album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Those editions of the album and five others are due September 30 on Nonesuch Records.

    After spending nearly 30 years showcasing their music across the globe, Wilco will make its Iceland debut April 6–8, 2023, at Reykjavík’s Eldborg Hall at Harpa. Tickets go on sale August 16. A new, previously unreleased track from the upcoming Yankee Hotel Foxtrot super deluxe and deluxe editions—a live, in-the-studio version of “Ashes of American Flags” from a 2001 session on WXRT Radio’s Sound Opinions—is out today.
