AfroCubism: Behind the Scenes

AfroCubism is the long-awaited collaboration between Cuban and Malian musicians meant to take place when the Buena Vista Social Club was born instead, finally realized 14 years later. Go behind the scenes and into the studio to hear from the musicians who made it all happen.

My son and I both love the "Los Afro-Salseros de Senegal en la Habana" recordings from 2001. "AfroCubism" promises to be the next chapter of this amazing fusion. Thank you!

Normally in a purely classical music context myself, as in subscription concerts and Mozart wigs, I am always so riveted by the authenticism and beauty of these vibes and these musicians who come from their own wonderful, unique roots and reach out to each other to make it happen. We all benefit, let it pour forth.
