Allen Toussaint
Allen Toussaint, the legendary New Orleans musician, is set to release his next album on Nonesuch Records in early 2009. Toussaint, who contributed two tracks, "Yes We Can Can" and "Tipitina and Me," to Nonesuch Records' 2005 benefit album Our New Orleans, is joined on the new album (as yet untitled) by producer Joe Henry Toussaint and musicians like label mates Brad Mehldau on piano, Joshua Redman on sax, and Nicholas Payton on trumpet, along with a band featuring guitarist Marc Ribot, bassist David Piltch, and drummer Jay Bellerose.
