    Laurie Anderson's 2015 film Heart of a Dog will receive its Criterion Collection release on Blu-Ray and DVD on December 6, 2016. Features on the special-edition release include a high-definition digital master, a new conversation between Anderson and coproducer Jake Perlin, and footage of her 2016 Concert for Dogs, plus an essay by film critic Glenn Kenny. The soundtrack, which contains the full audio recording of the film, including all music and spoken text, is out on Nonesuch.

    Laurie Anderson has been named to a jury of the 73rd Venice International Film Festival, August 31–September 10, 2016. She will join the jury for the Venezia 73 competition presided over by director Sam Mendes. Also on the jury are actresses Gemma Arterton, Nina Hoss, Chiara Mastroianni, and Zhao Wei; directors Joshua Oppenheimer and Lorenzo Vigas; and writer Giancarlo De Cataldo. Anderson's film Heart of a Dog screened in competition in Venice in 2015; the film will be shown in Italian cinemas in September.

    Laurie Anderson's film Heart of a Dog opens in UK cinemas starting Tuesday, May 10, at the Brighton Festival, of which she is the guest director. On May 11, she takes part in two screenings in London: one hosted by BBC Radio 6 Music's Lauren Laverne, another open to dogs (and their owners). All three feature Q&As with Anderson. Heart of a Dog continues to open in cinemas in the UK and Ireland through the spring and summer. Anderson discusses the film at a sold-out screening at the Tate Modern on Friday, April 22.

    Laurie Anderson's Heart of a Dog will receive its HBO premiere on April 25. The film is still playing at theaters across the US, having landed on a number of year's best lists, including those of the New York Times and New York magazine. A unique three-minute version of the film is showing on Times Square's electronic billboards each night this month starting at 11:57 PM as part of Midnight Moments.     Laurie Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, has been nominated for a Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary. "This year’s nominees are a testament to the strength, vitality and diversity of independent, artist-driven filmmaking," said Film Independent President Josh Welsh. "It’s an astonishingly strong group of films and performances this year and we look forward to celebrating them all at the Spirit Awards." Winners will be announced on February 27, 2016; the awards ceremony will be broadcast live on IFC.

    Laurie Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, has been nominated for three Cinema Eye Honors awards for Nonfiction Filmmaking: Outstanding Achievement in Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Design or Animation, and Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Score. The nominees were announced a reception in Copenhagen, Denmark, this evening. Winners will be announced at the 9th annual Cinema Eye Honors Ceremony on January 13, 2016, at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City. Heart of a Dog, now showing in select theaters, opens in additional theaters across the US this weekend.

    Laurie Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, which is currently showing at select theaters in NY and LA, was shown at the New York Film Festival last month. Following the screening, Anderson sat down with New York Film Festival director Kent Jones for a brief discussion of the film.     Laurie Anderson's film Heart of a Dog, which began its theatrical run at the Film Forum in NYC last month, has extended its run there, and opens at the Nuart in LA, where Anderson will participate in Q&A sessions this weekend. It also opens in additional theaters in New York and New Jersey and will been shown at the Virginia Film Festival in Charlottesville on Friday. The Los Angeles Times calls it "transfixing," saying it's Anderson's spirit, "beautifully inquisitive, witty, open, lyrical and generous—that makes Heart of a Dog so dreamily memorable." The film will open in more theaters across the country in the coming weeks. The soundtrack is available everywhere now on Nonesuch Records.

    Paul Thomas Anderson's film Junun, which documents the recording of Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express's forthcoming album of the same name, received its world premiere at Lincoln Center as part of the New York Film Festival on October 8. After the screening, Anderson joined festival director Kent Jones for a brief discussion of the film. Their conversation opens a recent episode of the Film Society of Lincoln Center's podcast, The Close-Up, which calls Junun "pure magic." Hear the podcast here.

    Paul Thomas Anderson will give his new documentary Junun its Los Angeles premiere on Sunday, November 15, at The Theatre at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, where he had given a pre-release screening of his film Inherent Vice. This past spring, Anderson joined Jonny Greenwood, Shye Ben Tzur, and a group of Indian musicians as they recorded the album Junun in a makeshift studio at Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur. The film chronicles the making of that album. The film is currently streaming on MUBI. The album, due November 20 on Nonesuch, is now available to pre-order.

    The complete soundtrack recording of Laurie Anderson's film Heart of a Dog, is out now, comprising the full audio recording of the film, including all music and spoken text. Heart of a Dog, which has opened theatrically at Film Forum in NYC, invites viewers to spend "75 enthralling minutes with the endlessly associative contents of Anderson's head and heart," says NPR. The New York Times calls it "dreamy, drifty and altogether lovely." New York says it's "one of the most moving and provocative films you’ll see this year."

    Laurie Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, has been nominated for a Gotham Independent Film Award for Best Documentary. The Gotham Awards, presented by the Independent Filmmaker Project, will be handed out in a ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC on November 30. The Heart of a Dog soundtrack recording, including all music and spoken text, is due out tomorrow on Nonesuch Records.
