    Paul Thomas Anderson's Academy Award–winning film Phantom Thread, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Lesley Manville, and Vicky Krieps, will receive its HBO premiere on Saturday, September 29, and will be available to watch via the HBO GO and HBO NOW apps. The Guardian says there is "such pure delicious pleasure in this film"; Financial Times says Anderson "gets everything right here." The soundtrack, featuring Jonny Greenwood's Oscar-nominated score, is out on Nonesuch.

The free event includes DJ sets, a beer garden, and a record label and independent record store market, and is situated next to Smorgasburg and its delicious food and drink options. Stop by the Nonesuch table then to say hi and pick up copies of your favorite Nonesuch vinyl releases, limited-edition prints, hats, tote bags, and more.

    We've pressed a very limited number of a white-label vinyl sampler of songs from recent and upcoming Nonesuch releases, and we're giving them away with orders of $40 or more in the Nonesuch Store while supplies last.     The Gospel at Colonus, Bob Telson and Lee Breuer's groundbreaking retelling of Sophocles' Oedipus at Colonus, will be given six free performances at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, September 4–9, presented by The Public Theater and the Onassis Foundation USA. The musical, for which Nonesuch released the 1985 original cast recording, returns to NYC for the first time since 2004 to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the original production. Set in the context of a black Pentecostal service, it celebrates the myth of Oedipus' redemption with a rousing gospel and blues score, featuring more than forty voices including The Blind Boys of Alabama as Oedipus.

    Bob Hurwitz, Chairman Emeritus and former President of Nonesuch Records, has been named the Aaron Copland Fellow at The New School's College of Performing Arts (CoPA), expanding upon a decade-long teaching relationship with The New School. "Expanding Bob's role at The New School through the Aaron Copland Fellowship means that more students at The College of Performing Arts will have the opportunity to learn from one of the most important music industry visionaries of our time," said Executive Dean Richard Kessler. Hurwitz will play an important role in the continuing development of CoPA's new Master's in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship.

    Paul Thomas Anderson's new film, Phantom Thread, is now available on iTunes, Amazon Video, and other digital services in the US, and will be available on Blu-Ray & DVD on April 10. The Phantom Thread soundtrack, featuring Jonny Greenwood's Oscar-nominated score, is available on CD and digitally now, with the vinyl due April 20.

    Dan Cohen has joined Nonesuch Records as vice president of marketing. Cohen comes to the label from Republic Records, where he was vice president of marketing for the past two years and worked on projects such as Lorde's #1 debut album and John Mellencamp's highest chart debut in a decade, along with campaigns for Jack Johnson, Mondo Cozmo, Phantogram, Marian Hill and more. In his new position, Cohen reports to Nonesuch President David Bither and is based at the label's global headquarters in New York City.

    Kris Chen has joined Nonesuch Records as Senior Vice President. Chen comes to the label from XL Recordings, where he served as head of the company's US operations for the past eleven years and was responsible for signing and/or working closely with artists such as Vampire Weekend, Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Sigur Rós, Tyler the Creator, Ratatat, and The xx. In his new post, Chen reports to Nonesuch Co-President David Bither and is based at the label's global headquarters in New York City. He will be involved across all areas of the company, with a particular focus on signing and developing both new and established talent.
