The Black Keys will embark on the first leg of their North American tour this March, with shows in arenas like New York’s Madison Square Garden, Boston’s TD Garden, and Chicago’s United Center, with special guests Arctic Monkeys opening all along the way. The shows are in support of their new album, El Camino, which the Daily Mail calls "a tour de force" and the Daily Mirror calls "a roof-raising, spirit-lifting triumph.” Tickets for most shows go on sale to the general public starting today and tomorrow.

The Black Keys kicked off release week for their new album, El Camino, with a special performance for some lucky fans at New York's Webster Hall Monday night, webcast live on MTV Hive. The Black Keys' new album, El Camino, was released yesterday to great critical acclaim and plenty of celebrating all around. The band was on The Colbert Report last night, performed "Lonely Boy" and a web-exclusive of "Gold on the Ceiling"—all of which you can watch here—and performs on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight. Reuters calls El Camino "stunning." The Washington Post calls the band "exhilarating." MTV includes El Camino on its list of the 20 Best Albums of 2011, calling it "positively brilliant." Stereogum says, "There isn’t a single weak track." Consequence of Sound gives the album four stars and finds it "very nearly the Platonic ideal of rock and roll."

The Black Keys, whose new album, El Camino, is just one day away, were featured on NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday, talking with host Audie Cornish about the new album. The Black Keys were musical guests on Saturday Night Live this weekend, performing two songs off of El Camino: "Lonely Boy" and "Gold on the Ceiling." Watch the performances here. The Black Keys are celebrating Record Store Day's "Back to Black" Friday with the release of a special limited-edition vinyl 12-inch of their new single, "Lonely Boy" exclusively at indie music retailers. Both the lead track and the B-side, "Run Right Back," are featured on the band's forthcoming album, El Camino, which hits stores on December 6. Björk performs songs from her new album, Biophilia, on Later ... with Jools Holland, airing Friday night on BBC Two in the UK. She performed the song "Crystalline" on Tuesday night's half-hour preview show; watch the performance here. Among the other guests on this week's shows are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, and Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings. Björk will perform at the Lollapalooza festival in Chile next year.

The video for The Black Keys' "Lonely Boy," off their forthcoming album, El Camino, made a bit of a splash when it was released last month, as you may have seen. It's just the latest in a long line of unforgettable music videos the band has released over the years. Emmylou Harris and Jessica Lea Mayfield are among the artists who will be showcased on the PBS special ACL Presents: Americana Music Festival, along with Robert Plant, Gregg Allman, Alison Krauss, The Avett Brothers, and others, airing on Austin City Limits this Saturday. The hour-long special was filmed live at the Ryman Auditorium on October 13, during the sold-out Americana Music Association's Honors and Award Show. Randy Newman, whose new live performance CD+DVD Live in London is out now, made his Austin City Limits TV debut this past weekend with an hour-long episode on PBS. The Independent and the Daily Mail give Live in London four stars; the Sunday Times calls it "essential listening for anyone who cares about the art of songwriting."

Randy Newman, whose new live performance CD+DVD Live in London was released this week, is set to make his Austin City Limits television debut when the show presents an episode dedicated exclusively to his work this Saturday, November 12, on PBS stations across the US. The set list features 17 songs from throughout Newman's career, including "Short People," "Political Science," and "You Can Leave Your Hat On." The Carolina Chocolate Drops are featured on the new documentary Give Me the Banjo, which premiered on PBS on Friday night and is now available online. Narrated by Steve Martin, Give Me the Banjo is a musical odyssey through 300 years of American history and culture by way of the banjo.
