The Black Keys have announced two high-profile events to celebrate their new album, Dropout Boogie, ahead of its May 13 release on Nonesuch Records. On May 11, the duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney will perform at Los Angeles’ famed Troubadour and offer a global livestream of the intimate show in this 500-capacity venue exclusively via Flymachine. The livestream passes and exclusive merch are available here; in-person tickets for the show go on sale May 9 here, with fan club sales starting at 9 am PT and general on sale following at 11 am PT.

In addition, the band will also participate in an album release party with iHeart stations across the country at 7pm PT on May 13. Audiences can tune in iHeart’s YouTube station to watch.

Led by the singles “Wild Child” and “It Ain’t Over,” Dropout Boogie features collaborations with Reigning Sound’s Greg Cartwright, Billy F Gibbons (ZZ Top), and Angelo Petraglia (Kings of Leon) and will be released one day before the twentieth anniversary of The Black Keys’ first LP, The Big Come Up. As they have done their entire career, Auerbach and Carney wrote all of the material in the studio, and the new album captures a number of first takes that hark back to the stripped-down blues rock of their early days making music together in Akron, Ohio basements.

The Black Keys will tour North America for the first time in three years starting in July. Band of Horses will support on all dates, while Ceramic Animal (July 9–30), Early James (August 24–September 9), and the Velveteers (October 2–18) will open at select performances. International tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

Beginning in early July, a new leg of headline dates will stop in cities that have yet to experience the live show of The Past Is Still Alive, the acclaimed album that has Vulture calling Segarra “one of America’s best songwriters." Upcoming performances also include Hurray for the Riff Raff’s Red Rocks debut and other amphitheater appearances with Norah Jones, as well as a homecoming set at New Orleans Jazz Festival, a return to NYC for a free concert in Battery Park, and more to be announced.
