The Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA (CAP UCLA) has announced its 2018–19 season, and among the artists performing this season are several artists familiar to readers of the Nonesuch Journal: Emmylou Harris, Kronos Quartet, Pat Metheny, Tigran Hamasyan, Nico Muhly, and Thomas Bartlett.

Emmylou Harris is first among the Nonesuch artists to take the stage at Royce Hall next season, performing songs from throughout her career on Thursday, October 4, 2018.

Tigran Hamasyan is next up at Royce Hall, bringing music from his recent EP, For Gyumri, and the preceding album, An Ancient Observer, to the venue on Sunday, October 14.

Pat Metheny helps round out the month full of Nonesuch-related performances at Royce Hall with a set from his new quartet, drummer Antonio Sánchez, bassist Linda Oh, and pianist Gwilym Simcock, on Friday, October 26.

Kronos Quartet shares its music on the other side of town with a presentation of A Thousand Thoughts, its live documentary collaboration with filmmaker Sam Green, at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown LA on Friday, December 7. The multimedia performance piece blends live music and narration with archival footage and filmed interviews with artists like Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Wu Man, and Terry Riley.

At the other end of the concert season, Nico Muhly hosts an evening titled Archives, Friends, Patterns at the Theatre at Ace Hotel on Friday, May 10, 2019. It's a performance in three parts, starting with music from Peter Pears: Balinese Ceremonial Music, his album with Thomas Bartlett out May 18 of this year. Also on the program are works by Philip Glass and a cycle of Muhly's own drone-based compositions.

Thomas Bartlett, whose album with Mandy Patinkin, Diary: January 27, 2018, is out today, can also be seen at the Theatre at Ace Hotel with his band The Gloaming on Friday, April 12, 2019.

Series subscriptions and create-your-own-series tickets are on sale now; individual tickets go on sale Monday, July 16. For additional performance and ticket details, go to cap.ucla.edu.
