David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's stage musical Here Lies Love will open in Sydney, Australia, in May 2015 as the theatrical centerpiece of the Vivid Festival. "Here Lies Love is unlike any musical previously staged in Australia," says Australian producer Rodney Rigby; "it is a transformative experience with unique and immersive staging by director Alex Timbers, where actors perform on platforms and moving catwalks, creating a club-like environment whilst forging a special relationship between the actors and the audience." Here Lies Love performances continue in NYC and open in London on September 30.

David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's stage musical Here Lies Love will open in Sydney, Australia, in May 2015. The country's Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Andrew Stoner, announced today that the New South Wales Government has secured the Australian premiere of the acclaimed award-winning New York production as the theatrical centerpiece of the Vivid Festival.

Directed by Alex Timbers and based on the life of Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos, Here Lies Love premiered at the Public Theater in April of 2013 and was extended four times, and will begin its London debut September 30 at the National Theatre’s new Dorfman Theatre. The Public’s production was hailed by the New York Observer as “the must-see event of the season” and by Vogue as “a life-giving, roof-raising, booty-shaking blast of joy.”

Australian producer Rodney Rigby of Newtheatricals said: "Here Lies Love is unlike any musical previously staged in Australia—it is a transformative experience with unique and immersive staging by director Alex Timbers, where actors perform on platforms and moving catwalks, creating a club-like environment whilst forging a special relationship between the actors and the audience."

Earlier this week, David Byrne announced that a remix collection from Here Lies Love, remixed by Matt Stine and Justin Levine, will be released September 30 on the Todomundo! label, with all proceeds going to Gawad Kalinga, a charity dedicated to typhoon relief and ending poverty in the Philippines for five million families by 2024.

Nonesuch Records released the original cast album of Here Lies Love earlier this year and an all-star song-cycle recording of the piece in 2010.
