Fourteen-time Grammy Award winner and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Emmylou Harris announces her final European tour beginning in the UK and Ireland in early 2026, with UK and Netherlands shows in May and more countries to be announced. Emmylou Harris is a fourteen-time Grammy Award winner and Billboard Century Award recipient whose contribution as a singer and songwriter spans forty years. She has recorded more than twenty-five albums and has performed on countless fellow artists’ recordings. In recognition of her remarkable career, Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 2018.

Harris is known as much for her eloquently straightforward songwriting as for her incomparably expressive singing. Admired through her career for her talent as an artist and song connoisseur, she shook up country radio in the 1970s and established herself as the premiere songwriter of a generation, selling more than fifteen million records and winning fourteen Grammy Awards, three CMA Awards, and four Americana Awards. One of the most admired and influential women in music, Harris has recorded with diverse artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Daniel Lanois, Bob Dylan, Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, Gram Parsons, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison, Ryan Adams, Beck, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, and Rodney Crowell.

Forty years into her career, Harris continues to share the hard-earned wisdom that—hopefully if not inevitably—comes with getting older while continuing to look ahead. A longtime social activist, Harris has been outspoken about many issues: most passionately about animal welfare. In 2004 she established Bonaparte's Retreat with the goal of rescuing shelter dogs and adopting them into forever homes. To this day, Bonaparte's Retreat continues to save the most in-need dogs from Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control and municipal shelters in surrounding counties.

Composer Donnacha Dennehy, whose piece Land of Winter, performed by Alarm Will Sound and conductor Alan Pierson, was released earlier this month on Nonesuch, shares some insight on the work, which explores the subtleties of Ireland’s seasons via twelve connected sections representing the months of the year, in a new essay. "It is the varying quality of light that truly demarcates the seasons," he says, "from the shorter days of grey or piercing light in the winter to the warmer but mercurial light of summer days that at solstice stretch almost to midnight. I like this play between light and time, and it is the major inspiration behind the piece."
