The Black Keys have released a new song, “I’m With The Band,” written with and featuring Beck—the third release from the upcoming expanded version of their latest album, Ohio Players. “I’m With The Band” is the third song on Ohio Players (Trophy Edition) on which Beck sings and which he co-wrote with The Black Keys. They also collaborated on the original Ohio Players tracks “Paper Crown,” featuring Juicy J, and “Beautiful People (Stay High).” This expanded edition of the band’s twelfth studio album is a two LP set, in a gatefold jacket, with four additional tracks, an alternate cover, and new album sequencing. You can pre-order Ohio Players (Trophy Edition) here.

Uncut called Ohio Players “an album with that infectious quality of sounding like it was a total blast to make,” adding: “Ohio Players combines the thickfreak attack of The Black Keys with Beck’s bottles-and-cans-and-just-clap-your-hands aesthetic. One of The Black Keys’ liveliest and fullest albums.” Mojo called it “the most streamlined and tunes-packed Black Keys album since El Camino. The sound of a band rejuvenated.”

This release follows last week’s collaboration with Alice Cooper for "Stay in Your Grave." There also will be an exclusive Amazon edition of Ohio Players (Trophy Edition), pressed on purple vinyl and including the Amazon Music Original bonus track “Let Love Take Its Time.” This is the first time that Amazon Music has released an Amazon Music Original track digitally and on vinyl simultaneously.

Coming up this Sunday, November 3, The Black Keys host one of their signature “Record Hangs"—a vibrant dance party with vinyl DJ sets from both Auerbach and Carney—at the Night We Met nightclub in Nashville. Entry is free and first come, first served.

As previously announced, The Black Keys are heading to Latin America in the spring of 2025, bringing their International Players Tour to Lima, Estereo Picnic festival in Bogotá, and Mexico City. The Black Keys have just added a new date to that tour, performing at the Tecate Pa’l Norte Music Festival in Monterrey, Mexico, on April 5, and have announced that they will take the stage at Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona, on February 22. Thanks to Hurray for the Riff Raff, aka Alynda Segarra, for autographing copies of both vinyl editions of their acclaimed 2024 album, The Past Is Still Alive—glow-in-the-dark green and translucent orange—for the Nonesuch Store. NPR exclaims: "Segarra has created an epic tale of life on the road, a nearly mythic version of their own life story that stands alongside other great American musical travelogues ... Career-defining." Rolling Stone calls it "the best batch of songs Segarra's ever written."

Guitarist/composer Mary Halvorson's new album, About Ghosts, is out now. It features eight new compositions by Halvorson, performed with her improvisatory sextet Amaryllis: Patricia Brennan (vibraphone), Nick Dunston (bass), Tomas Fujiwara (drums), Jacob Garchik (trombone), and Adam O’Farrill (trumpet). Saxophonists Immanuel Wilkins and Brian Settles join the ensemble on five tunes, and Halvorson adds Pocket Piano synthesizer overdubs on a number of tracks. The album was produced and mixed by Deerhoof's John Dieterich. Halvorson and Amaryllis will tour the US in September, preceded and followed by shows in Europe.
