Following a successful US tour, guitar/composer Mary Halvorson and her Amaryllis sextet will bring music from their new album, About Ghosts, to Europe starting later this month. Halvorson and the band—Patricia Brennan (vibraphone), Nick Dunston (bass), Tomas Fujiwara (drums), Jacob Garchik (trombone), and Adam O’Farrill (trumpet)—kick off the tour at Club Zak in Gdansk, Poland, on October 23, with shows in Padova, Bologna, Stockholm, Oslo, Tampere (Finland), Berlin, Hamburg, Ulm, Köln, Dortmund, and Amsterdam, culminating at De Oosterpoort in Groningen on November 8. About Ghosts features eight new compositions by Halvorson, performed with the sextet, with saxophonists Immanuel Wilkins and Brian Settles joining the ensemble on five tunes, and Halvorson adding Pocket Piano synthesizer overdubs on a number of tracks. The album was produced and mixed by Deerhoof's John Dieterich. Halvorson was once again named Guitarist of the Year in the 2025 DownBeat Critics Poll, and Amaryllis was named Group of the Year. Grammy Award winner Molly Tuttle, who has just been nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Americana Album for her critically acclaimed album So Long Little Miss Sunshine and Best Americana Performance for the track “That’s Gonna Leave A Mark,” has announced a new tour for February: Molly x Marty: Guitars on Fire—The Cosmic Twang Tour, featuring the Molly Tuttle Trio with Marty Stuart & His Famous Superlatives, with shows in Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Tuttle's “The Highway Knows Tour,” supporting the Grammy-nominated So Long Little Miss Sunshine. The run concludes December 13 in San Francisco, with a stop at The Fonda in Los Angeles just before, on December 11.
