Molly Tuttle has brought her The Highway Knows tour in support of her new album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine, to her home state of California with shows at Tower Theatre in Fresno tonight and The Fillmore in San Francisco on Saturday. These are her final shows of the year before a New Year’s Eve show at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park. Tuttle has been nominated for two Grammy Awards: Best Americana Album for So Long Little Miss Sunshine and Best Americana Performance for the album track "That's Gonna Leave a Mark." The album has also been featured on many year-end lists, including PopMatters, Mojo, Guitar World, and more. Listen to her new holiday track with Golden Highway, joined by Ketch Secor, their take of The Pogues' 1987 holiday classic with Kirsty MacColl, "Fairytale of New York," here.

Pianist Jeremy Denk is in Florida to join the Naples Philharmonic, conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya, for two performances at Artis—Naples this weekend. Saturday’s performance at Hayes Hall features Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and works by Prokofiev and Jimmy López. On Sunday, Denk is joined by members of the Naples Philharmonic at Daniel’s Pavilion for a chamber program that includes Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 27 in E Minor and Schubert’s Trout Quintet.

---

Guitarist/composer Mary Halvorson kicks off her Japan tour with the Tomeka Reid Quartet—cellist Tomeka Reid, bassist Jason Roebke, and drummer Tomas Fujiwara—performing at Tokuzo in Nagoya tonight and Akagi Shrine in Shinjuku City on Sunday. “Thrilling; no matter how many times I return, this album feels like a fresh expedition," Nate Chinen writes of her latest album with her sextet Amaryllis, About Ghosts, naming it the No. 1 Jazz Album of the Year in his Substack, The Gig. About Ghosts has been recognized on many year-end lists including The Quietus, Jazzwise, Mojo, PopMatters, Slate, and more.

---

Emmylou Harris performs at The Hamilton Live in Washington, DC, on Sunday. She leads a concert to benefit her dog rescue, Bonaparte's Retreat, with special guests Maura Oconnell, Tammy Rogers, and John Mock. This fall, Harris was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her European Farewell Tour kicks off in Glasgow in January.

---

Singer/composer Gabriel Kahane and his father, pianist Jeffrey Kahane, are joined by clarinetist Anthony McGill, performing with the San Antonio Philharmonic at Scottish Rite Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas, tonight and on Saturday. The program includes Kahane’s clarinet concerto If love will not swing wide the gates; the title piece to his new album, Heirloom; and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Heirloom, released this fall, is "a musical roller coaster of a journey bursting with drama, detail and invention," says Gramophone. "With pianist Jeffrey Kahane in top form, and conductor Eric Jacobsen and The Knights' orchestral collective alive to the concerto's every twist and turn, here is a dazzling concerto du jour that glows with an exhilarating sense of its own clear purpose and inevitability."

---

Robert Plant and Saving Grace—vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown—continue their UK tour in support of their new album, Saving Grace, at the sold-out Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Sunday. Plant was on NPR’s World Cafe to talk with host Raina Douris about Saving Grace and perform three songs from the album, which has made several year-end lists, including Uncut, Mojo, Glide, Record Collector, and more. You can listen to the episode here.

---

Bass-baritone Davóne Tines performs with the Detroit Opera on Saturday at the Detroit Opera House for Highways and Valleys – Two American Love Stories. The double-bill features Highway 1, USA, in which composer William Grant Still paints a portrait of a family navigating the promises and pressures of the American Dream. It is paired with Kurt Weill’s folk-inspired Down in the Valley, a newly staged production and premiere about love and sacrifice.
