Caroline Shaw, Gabriel Kahane perform at Wigmore Hall in London. Laurie Anderson is at the Brooklyn Public Library. Julia Bullock sings Britten with Minnesota Orchestra. Caroline Shaw is joined by Gabriel Kahane and vocal group Siglo de Oro at Wigmore Hall in London on Saturday, where she is composer in residence this season. The program opens with a selection of her works—and the swallow, Fly Away I, Dolce Cantavi, and How to fold the Wind—followed by Shaw and Kahane’s new collaborative piece, Hexagons, based on the magical realism of Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges’s 1939 short story "The Library of Babel." Earlier that afternoon, Shaw discusses her music with writer Katy Hamilton, accompanied by short performances. Laurie Anderson helps present the keynote performance of Brooklyn Public Library’s Night in the Library event at the Central Library on Saturday. The piece, titled The Mark: Making a Physical Imprint, also features dancers Baye & Asa. Anderson’s latest album, Amelia, about renowned female aviator Amelia Earhart’s tragic last flight, was released last year; you can get the album—“mesmerizing from the first line to the last," per V magazine—and hear it here. You can hear Anderson’s recent appearance on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs here.

Julia Bullock joins the Minnesota Orchestra, conducted by Thomas Søndergård, at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis tonight and Saturday to perform Britten’s setting of Rimbaud, Les illuminations. Also on the program are Dorothy Howell’s symphonic poem Lamia and Mahler’s First Symphony.

Pianist Jeremy Denk joins the Academy of St Martin in the Fields for the final concerts of its US tour, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat Major, K. 449, at Lehigh University’s Zoellner Arts Center at in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, tonight, and Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1 at NJPAC's Prudential Hall in Newark on Saturday and Mechanics Hall in Worcester on Sunday. Pianist Richard Goode gives a solo recital at the Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater in Philadelphia for the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. He performs Hadyn's Sonatas in B Minor and D Major, Mozart's Rondo in A Minor and Sonata in D Major, and Brahms's Six Pieces and Four Pieces.

Hurray for the Riff Raff (aka Alynda Segarra) and Bright Eyes take their tour across the South this weekend, with shows at The Beacham in Orlando tonight, Tabernacle in Atlanta on Saturday, and Mill & Mine in Knoxville on Sunday. Just ahead of last week’s one-year anniversary of their acclaimed album The Past Is Still Alive, Hurray for the Riff Raff released a new single, “Pyramid Scheme,” which embodies that record’s spirit of resilience and rebellion.
