Caroline Shaw is joined by Gabriel Kahane and vocal group Siglo de Oro at Wigmore Hall in London on Saturday, where she is composer in residence this season. The program opens with a selection of her works—and the swallow, Fly Away I, Dolce Cantavi, and How to fold the Wind—followed by Shaw and Kahane’s new collaborative piece, Hexagons, based on the magical realism of Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges’s 1939 short story "The Library of Babel." Earlier that afternoon, Shaw discusses her music with writer Katy Hamilton, accompanied by short performances. Laurie Anderson helps present the keynote performance of Brooklyn Public Library’s Night in the Library event at the Central Library on Saturday. The piece, titled The Mark: Making a Physical Imprint, also features dancers Baye & Asa.
