Molly Tuttle continues her The Highway Knows tour in support of her new album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine, with a show at Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado, on Saturday. Earlier on Saturday, Tuttle stops by the local Guitar Center for a workshop and Q&A. "Molly Tuttle is one of the best young guitarists in the business,” says NPR’s Stephen Thompson, including So Long Little Miss Sunshine on the All Songs Considered Best New Albums episode. “This thing is magical. It is so good.”

Also in Denver, drummer, producer, and sonic collagist Makaya McCraven, whose new two-disc, four-EP compilation Off the Record was released last week, continues his US tour at Dazzle Denver in the city tonight, before heading to the Pacific Northwest for shows at The Get Down in Portland on Saturday and Madame Lou’s in Seattle on Sunday. McCraven’s four new EPs are due on all music platforms next Friday.

Composer John Adams’ new orchestral piece, Frenzy, is given its Japanese premiere by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, at Suntory Hall, in Tokyo tonight. Also on the program are Stravinsky’s The Firebird and The Rite of Spring. Adams' music is featured throughout the soundtrack for Luca Guadagnino's new film, After the Hunt, which can be pre-ordered on CD and heard here.

About Ghosts, released earlier this year, "conjures such vibrant, picturesque riffs, capricious melodic excursions, and suspenseful rhythmic undertows," DownBeat says in its four-star review, "a marvelous document for Halvorson’s compositional acumen and conceptual ingenuity.” The magazine's Critics Poll named Halvorson Guitarist of the Year and Amaryllis Group of the Year.
