Here Lies Love, David Byrne's musical collaboration with Fatboy Slim on the life of Imelda Marcos, is due out from Todomundo and Nonesuch Records in just three weeks and is currently available for pre-order in the Nonesuch Store. The song cycle features a who's who of guest vocalists including Tori Amos, Cyndi Lauper, Natalie Merchant, Kate Pierson, and Santigold. The deluxe edition includes the album on two discs, a 100-page book about the project, and a DVD of videos. One of these videos, featuring the Santigold track, "Please Don't," has now been posted to Boing Boing in an exclusive preview of the material.

"There are six of these videos that have been completed for this project," Byrne tells Boing Boing's Xeni Jardin. "Most, like this one, use news and archival footage to, well, show that every word of the song is true!"

For anyone who was in the audience for David Byrne's unforgettable 2008-09 tour, Songs of David Byrne & Brian Eno, the experience is one not soon forgotten. All of the action on stage and off was captured on film and is now featured in the new documentary Ride, Rise Roar. The tour paired modern dance with music from throughout the decades of Byrne and Eno collaborations, including Talking Heads classics and the pair's groundbreaking 1981 album My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. The film received its world premiere at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas, yesterday as part of the South by Southwest conferences, with further screenings set to take place there this Thursday, March 18, as SXSW Music is under way, and Saturday, the 20th, for the close of SXSW Film.
