Laurie Anderson is in Reykjavik to perform her new piece Republic of Love at Norðurljós in Harpa Concert Hall tonight. She heads to Knoxville at the end of March for the Big Ears Festival then returns to Europe for a tour of Republic of Love with the band Sexmob starting in April. Anderson' latest album, Amelia, was released on Nonesuch in 2024. The record comprises twenty-two tracks about renowned female aviator Amelia Earhart’s tragic last flight. Anderson, who Pitchfork says, “sees the future, but she starts by paying attention,” wrote the music and lyrics. On the album, she is joined by Filharmonie Brno, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, and Anohni, Gabriel Cabezas, Rob Moose, Ryan Kelly, Martha Mooke, Marc Ribot, Tony Scherr, Nadia Sirota, and Kenny Wollesen.
