Laurie Anderson stopped by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to visit a favorite object—a 15th–16th century chain mail shirt with inscribed rings—and share memories of the Friday evenings she used to spend at the Museum with her late husband, Lou Reed, in a new video you can watch here:

Laurie Anderson’s latest album, Amelia, was released in 2024. The record comprises twenty-two tracks about renowned female aviator Amelia Earhart’s tragic last flight. Anderson, who Pitchfork says, “sees the future, but she starts by paying attention,” wrote the music and lyrics. On the album, she is joined by Filharmonie Brno, conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, and Anohni, Gabriel Cabezas, Rob Moose, Ryan Kelly, Martha Mooke, Marc Ribot, Tony Scherr, Nadia Sirota, and Kenny Wollesen. You can get it and hear it here.

Anderson has a number of tour dates in Europe in November and returns to Big Ears Festival in March. For details, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.
