On his latest album, Children and Art, Mandy Patinkin performs songs by Randy Newman, Laurie Anderson, Lyle Lovett, Stephen Sondheim, Tom Waits, Rufus Wainwright, Taylor Mac, Teitur, and Patinkin himself. The album was recorded in New York with pianist/producer Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman) and features several songs previewed over the previous two years in the digital Diary series.     Composer Donnacha Dennehy has released an excerpt from his Violin Concerto's second movement, performed by National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, conductor Ryan McAdams, and violinist Stephen Waarts, from the upcoming album Limina.
