Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Molly Tuttle was on CBS Saturday Morning to talk with Anthony Mason and perform a Saturday Sessions set: "That's Gonna Leave a Mark," from her upcoming album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine, and "San Joaquin," from her 2023 GRAMMY-winning album, City of Gold. "With my music, its just like a door will open, and then I'm walking through it," Tuttle tells Mason. "All of a sudden, in the last year, I was like, it's time to do something different, to do something totally new and find my own sound that's not emulating a certain genre or style." So Long Little Miss Sunshine, recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce, marks a sonic departure from her recent work. The album of eleven originals and one cover (Icona Pop and Charli xcx’s “I Love It”) is a hybrid of pop, country, rock, and flat-picking, plus a murder ballad. Her virtuoso guitar work takes center stage on this album more than ever, and for the first time, she introduces her banjo playing into two of her recordings. You can pre-order the album here.
