Grammy Award–winning singer, songwriter, and guitarist Molly Tuttle stopped by the studios of New York City NPR member station WFUV earlier this summer to perform for FUV Live and talk with host Alisa Ali about her new album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine. "Tuttle did bring a ray of light into Studio A when she stopped by for this session, her first for FUV," Ali says. "She is a down-to-earth, humble, and extremely present person, and an immensely talented musician. She did one take of each of the songs ... and just nailed it each time." You can watch Tuttle perform "The Highway Knows" and "That's Gonna Leave a Mark" from the new album and "San Joaquin" from her Grammy-winning 2023 album City of Gold, below, and hear their conversation at wfuv.org.
So Long Little Miss Sunshine was released to critical acclaim. "Molly Tuttle is one of the best young guitarists in the business," NPR's All Songs Considered host Stephen Thompson says on the show's latest "Best New Albums" episode. "This thing is magical. It is so good ... a really magnificent album." You can get it and hear it here.
Tuttle and her band's The Highway Knows Tour continues in Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee this week and weekend. Tuttle will perform in An Evening with The Mountain Goats and Molly Tuttle to benefit WFUV at Sony Hall in New York City on November 11.
